The Architect

Each night I wake and dream anew
Try to decide what's best to do

Doors beyond I try to find
Gambling with my fragile mind

Jacob fell, his ladder broke
For he was not the wheel,
The spoke

From where he lay he woke and saw
Babylon, that sacred whore
Who loves us still, her raiment tore
A Beast crawls forth,
From scarlet, War

Yet to choose a side
Is to destroy half
Better to worship
The golden calf

Babel fell, hewn from stone
For daring to reach the golden throne
No punishment did It intend
Our common language did She rend

The palace is not a house to reach
Impossible thus, to find a breach
Paradise cannot be revealed
Within the suffering, is it sealed

So for those with carefree lives
Lie in wait Hell's steely knives
And those that grin with foolish pride
Be full of Worms that spawn inside

Know this then, your every thought
Can be salvation for thou neighbour's draught
Ask them, what you can do?
Bear creedence,
In your mind be true.
